responsible, experienced show breeder...call me for info

We are active breeder/exhibitors. We are serious breeders who exhibit at our national breed specialty show and Westminster. We do not have a "kennel" and only keep "house dogs." I do not keep more dogs in my house than we can properly maintain and love, but we have finished AKC championships on 19 dogs of our own breeding over the past fourteen years, finished many others from outside breeders, and have points/majors on a few others of our breeding that are out in show homes. My dogs can easily go between show ring and soccer games, since they are well socialized, well bred dogs.
We have had dogs of our breeding qualified for the AKC Eukanuba Invitational every single year and had three qualified for this past year's 2011 National Championship, which is Invitational only. Last year, our one-year-old smooth champion, who is a much-loved pet in her "other life" in a local pet home, won the 1st Award of Excellence at Eukanuba. This qualifies her for entrance into the Crufts show in England. She also did very well at Westminster, even though she was the youngest dachshund in breed competition.
I've bred two ROMX (DCA Register of Merit Excellent Top Producers)and just had my favorite "bed dog" Lily qualify for the highest level of DCA Register of Merit possible... ROMO (DCA Register of Merit Outstanding). Only thirteen smooth dachshund females in history have ever done this. One son finished during our national breed specialty week in 2010, and another daughter went BOS to BOB at a specialty. Another daughter just finished during the huge (117 dachshunds entered at this show) Northern California Dachshund Club specialty for a 5 point major from the Bred By Exhibitor class...beating something like 50 class dogs/bitches. This one is a Grand Champion at age 18 months and already has a group placement. Two of her other pups finished from the puppy class. Even after qualifying for her ROMO, Lily still has pups out there with points and majors. Lily went Best Veteran in Show and Best Brood Bitch in Show, during her come-back weekend after retirement. She is undefeated for Best Veteran in Show at every specialty show she enters :)
Another of my homebred champions was just honored at our dachshund nationals for being a Top Producing stud dog for 2010. Stud service for any of my champion boys is on approval of the bitch and potential breeder of the litter.
I am extremely careful when it comes to letting a promising puppy go to a potential show home. I need to get to know you well, so we can build a relationship as co-owners. Please contact me for more information regarding a potential show prospect.
Not every puppy is a true show prospect, no matter how well planned the litter. If you just want a great looking, well bred representative of the breed, I do let pets go on spay/neuter contracts only, to well qualified homes.
