We have been involved with the breed since 1976. All of our dogs have been handled, trained and shown by ourselves. I have trained and handled dogs to titles in obedience (UD level), hunt tests (SH level), & Best in Show and am an AKC judge in conformation and hunt tests and listed in the 1998 book Who’s Who In Dogs by Connie Vanacore. Sound, people oriented temperaments are the hallmark of our breeding program. Our dogs are well known world wide for their fine dispositions and all around abilities.
We have bred over 200 AKC titled dogs in all types of venues. In December 2004, our 100th conformation champion titled; in April 2006 our 100th performance dog titled! Pond Hollow dogs have won national recognition awards in field, show and obedience. Each breeding is seriously planned with long-range goals in mind. The dogs we use for breeding are hip and eye certified or cleared. In addition, all of our breedings are done with dogs who have been gene tested for PRA or their parents. The pups from our breeding will never get PRA.
In the field end, seven different Pond Hollow studs have offspring that have completed Master Hunter level Hunt Tests and earned the MH title. We firmly believe that the dogs should not only look good but also still retain their retrieving instincts.
Our dogs also serve as beloved pets, valued hunters (two with professional guides), pet therapy dogs (one has been featured on PBS television), OLN channel, search/rescue dogs and drug/bomb detection dogs. They have been featured in national sporting magazines
All the pups are home raised and socialized, given all preliminary shots and are wormed. They are also introduced to birds & shot. We evaluate all pups for conformation, temperament, and hunting aptitude. They are guaranteed in writing. Please see our web site for more detailed information.
Puppies available now-born 9/17/2007 ready November 9 to 11. Deadgrass/sedge colors. Litter also planned for late November 2007.
