OwyheeStar Kennels Terms of Sale
· The Seller guarantees this dog to be in good health on the date of sale—dew claws have been removed/ the tail docked.
· It is recommended that the purchaser arrange for a veterinarian examination of the pup within the first seven days. Should your veterinarian determine this dog to be in ill health during the first 7 days , the cause of which is clearly attributable to the Seller, the pup may be returned for a full refund of purchase price/or if feasible seller may supply a replacement puppy. Prior to refunding the purchase price or replacing the puppy, presentation of a written diagnosis from your veterinarians required to be provided to the Seller.. The Seller shall be allowed 7 days after receiving the written proof to investigate and confer with their veterinarian.
· Vaccinations: The Weimaraner Club of America has established a special protocol for vaccinating Weimaraner puppies due to immuno-deficiency problems in this breed. It is in you and your pup’s best interest to adhere to this protocol. All OwyheeStar puppies will have had their first vaccination, however, this gives the pup limited immunity. Please use care until your puppy has received their entire series of vaccinations. Also refer to the Puppy manual you received for more information and discuss this will your veterinarian as well.
· Seller does not assume responsibility for any other veterinary bills or other expenses incurred by the purchaser on behalf of the dog after the dog has left the kennel.
· The Buyer agrees to maintain preventative health care of the puppy including, but not limited to: inoculations, internal as well as external parasites, heartworm preventative medication. In the event a Buyer exercises return rights under one year health guarantee, all documentation that the above maintenance has been performed must be provided to Seller. If the buyer does not provide such proof that every step was taken to assure the good health of the puppy, no refund or replacement puppy will be given.
· OwyheeStar Kennels makes every effort to prevent genetic disease in their stock. Every Dam & Sire 2 years of age or old (the age at which the OFA can be completed) must pass the OFA certification with a Good or Excellent rating. There is a lot of evidence that genetic hip Dysplasia can be eliminated with a consistent breeding program such as ours.
· This puppy has been sold as a pet/companion dog; OwyheeStar Kennels does not sell brood bitches or stud dogs (unless otherwise arranged). They are sold with the AKC Limited Registration, which states this dog may be registered, but any offspring resulting from mating will not be, with a Full AKC Registration and an agree to spay or neuter within 6 months of purchase for a $100 rebate. If the puppy is being sold with limited registration, the Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed/neutered by the time it is of at least 6 months of age and provide Seller with verification of such. If you are interested in using your puppy as breeding stock please ask us about our Breeder’s Agreement.
· Should the Buyer be unable to keep this dog for any reason, the Buyer agrees never to take this dog to a pound or public shelter. The buyer agrees to make a reasonable effort to place this dog in a responsible home environment and notify OwyheeStar Kennels of the new owner’s name and address. If all efforts fail to find a quality home for this dog, the buyer will return this dog to OwyheeStar Kennels along with their dog’s registration papers. OwyheeStar may refund some portion purchase price, if the Weimaraner can be sold within 30 days of returning the Weim. Of course, the primary concern is finding the right home the second time around.
· The Buyer agrees that the puppy will NOT be left alone in backyard or kennel only. The Buyer agrees that the puppy will reside inside the home of the Buyer, and not be chained or “tied out”. This animal is sold with the understanding that it was to go to select homes, socialized properly, and become a member of the family.
· This Agreement goes into effect 7 days from the original receipt of the puppy deposit. If for any reason you do not feel you can agree to the terms of the sale of the puppy please contact us immediately. The purpose of this agreement is to insure the well being and protection of this animal. If any part of this Agreement is breached, the Seller is released from any further obligations hereunder. Puppy deposits are non-fundable once the puppies are born unless the seller fails to deliver the puppy by the time the puppy is 8 weeks old. Some deposits may be transferable to another litter at the Seller’s discretion.

Note: The purpose of this written agreement is to make clear the terms of the sale of puppies received from OwyheeStar Kennels. Although we suspect we may not have to honor this agreement many times due to our emphasis on healthy breeding practices, we still know a written agreement will help clarify policy should a problem arise.
