I highly recommend Ted/Karen Brunner (Barkerville). They're nice people and help with our juniors program at DCA every year. They've had some very nice dogs. They are not too far from you, really. If you want to get a good dog
from a reputable breeder, you will have to travel a bit.

I am in Southern CA and have a couple of nice older smooth standard pups available as pets. These were pups from my AKC champion bitch that I held as possible show prospects for me to keep....watched them a bit and decided to let them go as pets on a spay/neuter contract. They're still very handsome pups. Wish I was closer to you.
