MY FEMALE IS IN HEAT (5 DAYS NOW). I HAVE A MALE READY TO BREED HER. I DON'T KNOW WHEN THE APPROPRIATE TIME FOR A SUCCESSFUL BREED. I TRIED TO BREED HER FOR THE 2ND TIME IN SEPT., BUT SHE WOULDN'T BREED WITH THE MALE (BLACK & TAN). THIS IS A DIFFERENT MALE (RED). SHE HAS HAD 1 LITTER, BUT IT WAS JUST A LUCKY SHOT THAT WE GOT IT RIGHT.

3/15/05 The females are in HEAT for 3 days out of their cycle. I would say it's roughly about the 5th or 6th day of the cycle. You'll have to watch your dog to tell. Good luck! Debbi

3/21/05 I usually just let my male run with the female for an hour each day from the time she first shows signs untill the time she starts going out. This is a sure fire way for a good solid breeding. Sussie
