A Visitor asked the following question on 12/19/2010
I have a white male dachshund and he has a very small amount of double dapple and blue dappled eyes. He cannot hear but still very intelligent and such a good boy. He is my first dachshund and I have never seen another like him. I am just wanting to know if this is a rare and desired trait or not. Thanks :)

You have a deaf dog. This trait is not rare and desired, and deafness is strongly connected with the double dapple gene. Please neuter your pet and love him for what he is. Unfortunately, this is not a rare problem, nor is it desired.
