my girl was in heat 3 weeks ago and right at her prime i was gone for the day and my husband decides not to keep an eye out and later he finds my male with his STUFF hanging way out it's never been out like that before well now my female is getting about nickel size knots in her teats it's been right at 3 weeks is this a definite YES that shes probally pregnant???

It's not necessarily a certainty even when you have witnessed a true tie. Often females will go into a false pregnancy especially if they have been around males during their cycle. I wouldn't panic just yet but would wait for further signs of pregnancy. Most likely the male never made full contact with the female and if it was only the one time he probably just tied "outside" the female and no harm done. I bought a 4 yo adult "proven" male dachshund to use for stud and that's all he has ever done for me. No puppies yet!
