My male is smaller then my female and he has a hard time mounting her. I have been trying to help them out by holding her and having some towels for him to stand on, but he doesnt seem to get big enough to get to her. Is there something else I can do to help? Today is her 7th day of heat should I wait until the 9th day to try again or go ahead and keep trying?

I don't even attempt to breed until the 9th day. Sometimes we can offer too much help and they eventually get it done on their own. Put them together in a small room and leave them alone but watch over them. If the male wears himself out trying too hard you need to remove him for an hour or two, then try again later. They sell disposable artificial insemination kits in supply catalogs for under $20 and they do work. I breed artificial for the first time recently and had a litter of 7.
