My female dachshund was diagnosed with demodex during her pregnancy (I now know that she shouldn't have been bred, but she had a very mild case, and we had never even heard of it prior to her diagnosis). Is there any research on the odds of her pups coming down with it? Also, how likely is it to reoccur now that she is clear?

11/21/06 It is has been my knowledge that lots of time they misdiagnos demodex mange. If you go to the vet's office there is a shampoo that I was told to get at one time to bathe her in. If it is not mange, her hair will come back. Dachshunds have very, very sensitive skin. I make sure that none of my food, treats, or any thing they get close to as wheat or soy in it. They are very allergic to soy. Could your female have eaten something with soy in it? Ra Vae
