A Visitor asked the following question on 6/12/2006
I noticed that my dachshund has about five bumps on her feet and head. I think that they might be ant bites because it looks like bumps that people get when an ant or mesquito bites them. I wanted to know if I should put any medicine on the bites or just wait it out.

If they are affecting her in anyway (scratching) or if there is hairloss around the areas with or without scabs, I would have your vet check it out. Otherwise, it probably is ant bites if you live in an area that has ants and she spends a lot of time outdoors. If a dog spends most of it's time outdoors, it will come in contact with all sorts of "critters". :)
