I know this is a Very Subjective Question - because it depends on the female - but if the person breeding the female is trying to make sure that everything is done to focus on her health (example - waiting until she is 2 years of age to breed) How many times can she have a litter before she should be retired. What is the Breeder average and what is ethical? Thanks!

3/6/06 No more than 1 litter per year and not back to back. My vet says that if a female is in excellent health, up to 7 years of age is ideal. But I can't say I would be comfortable breeding one of my girls every single year until they reached 7. Carine
