Our puppies will be placed in homes based on temperament and the buyer's needs. Some puppies are more energetic than others and this will be taken
into consideration when placing puppies. We refuse to place puppies based on color. We acknowledge our right to refuse selling a puppy to anyone we feel can not give our puppy the home it needs and deserves.
Our puppies come with a two year genetic health guarantee. We do not cover cherry eye, ectropian, entropian, demodectic mange, or any other health issue unrelated to genetics. We do not cover temperament issues as we can not control how the puppy is raised once he or she is in their new home. If a problem should arise, we will need documentation from your vet and our vet. We strive to select healthy dogs for our breeding program with temperament at the top of our list. If you bring your puppy home and are not satisfied, arrangements will be made to have the puppy sent back to us, and you will have the option of replacing your puppy one time . Shipment of the puppy will be paid for by the buyer. Trailhead puppies are NOT to be sold, given away or used for illegal purposes. Should an owner come across a problem and can no longer keep or provide for their Trailhead Cane Corso, the Corso will be returned to Katherine Tantillo at the buyer's expense. No money will be returned to the buyer. Only Breed/Show quality puppies will receive FCI registration Pet quality puppies will be AKC registered.
Our litters vary in price depending on the sire and dam being bred. A 400.00 non refundable deposit is expected in order to hold a puppy after an application
has been approved. The rest of the payment is due when the puppies are born. If the payment is not made then we will move your deposit to another litter. There are no time limits on reserving a puppy. If the breeding does not take, or the litter does not produce the expected number of puppies we will transfer your deposit to another litter. We hold puppies in the order they are paid for. We will only take a select number of deposits and then will form a waiting list. We do not take deposits on every litter. Breed/Show quality puppies will not be bred until at least eighteen months of age. Trailhead Cane Corso must approve all breed quality homes. We choose not to sell breed quality puppies out of every litter. As responsible breeders we feel it is important and our job to make sure our breed quality buyers have the best interest of the breed at heart. There is nothing wrong in our opinion in selling a breed quality dog as a pet. However, we occasionally will change a pet quality contract to a breed quality contract at eight months with our approval. Documentation of this check will need to be mailed to Trailhead. If this is not done the health portion of the contract is void. Breed/Show puppies will carry Trailhead's name on all documentation. (ex; Trailhead's ). Should a health issue arise where the puppy can not be bred then we will replace your puppy with another puppy from the litter of your choice. The buyer will pay expenses to return the first puppy back to Trailhead Cane Corso. We only replace puppies one time.
We do offer ear cropping at the buyer's expense. Ear cropping is seen as an elective surgery and Trailhead does not cover any costs associated with ear cropping. Ear cropping is 400.00 and this also includes 9 week vaccinations. There will also be a 50.00 charge for the extra week we are keeping your puppy. Ear cropping is done at 9.5 weeks and puppies may go home soon afterwards. I will include a tip sheet on ear care and management as well as instructions on how to properly tape your puppies ears.
We offer shipping in the United States at buyer's expense. Flights normally cost around 280.00 and the buyer will also be responsible for the crate (65.00), Health Certificate (50.00), and 9 week shots (54.00) Puppies will not be shipped until they are at least ten weeks of age. We do not cover any complications associated with air travel. Puppies will be shipped or picked up on Friday through Sunday only. If you can not pick up your puppy the weekend they are ready to come home a twenty dollar a day fee will be charged. Also, if we have not received full payment on your puppy by the time they are seven weeks old we reserve the right to place them into another home. Should we place the puppy in another home your deposit will transfer to the next available litter. Our contract is more detailed and we encourage you to ask us for a copy before putting down a deposit. Upon receiving your deposit it will be understood that you have fully read our policy and agree with our terms. Puppies are cute, but they are a LIFELONG commitment. Please make sure you are ready before adopting a puppy into your home.
