This sales agreement applies to a Skye Terrier Dog/Bitch that in the opinion of the breeder(s) is of Pet Quality and should not be used for the purpose of breeding.

The sale of this Skye Terrier Pet Dog/Bitch on this date _________________________ for the amount of _________ is under the following provisions:
1. Seller certifies said Dog/Bitch to be in good health on date of sale.
2. The Dog/Bitch is to be taken to a Veterinarian of the purchaser's choice and at the Purchaser’s expense within 72 hours for a health check. A signed statement from the veterinarian as to the dog’s condition or health must be sent to the Seller within seven (7) days of the examination. Failure to do so will relieve the Seller of all liability.
3. If the Dog/Bitch is found to be ill on its first examination, the Seller must be notified within 24 hours after the examination and returned to the Seller at the Purchaser's expense within 48 hours of examination.
4. The New Owner/Owners agree that this Dog/Bitch will never be sold or given to any pet shop or retail or wholesale place where dogs are sold or re-sold to the public, nor to any research institution where experimental practices take place.
5. The New Owner/Owners agree that this Dog/Bitch will not be used in any breeding program and agree that this Dog/Bitch will either be spayed or neutered before their 2nd birthday and/or be registered under a non-breeding registration through the American Kennel Club. Registration papers for a Dog/Bitch who is being spayed or neutered will not be furnished to the Purchaser until the Seller has evidence the Dog/Bitch has been spayed or neutered.
6. The Breeder specifies that because of the quality of the Dam and Sire of this Skye Terrier a great effort has been made to insure a superior quality dog or bitch. However, as the puppy (Skye Terrier) is being sold at an age best suited to it’s adaptation to a new home, it is impossible for the breeders to completely determine what faults may appear at a later age.
The Breeder would encourage the new owner/owners to satisfy themselves by discussing with the Breeders and their own Veterinarian the affects of Premature Closure of the Distal Ulna on a dwarf breed like the Skye Terrier, so as best to understand the development and prevention of this disabling problem which can affect their Skye Terrier. The Skye Terrier they are buying is free from the problem at this age, but the breeders make no guarantees as to its' future development.
7. Any violations of provisions 4 and 5 of this contract shall result in the Sellers repossession of the Dog/Bitch into their ownership and they shall receive from the New Owner/Owners $1,000.00 in punitive damages.
8. If for any sound reason the New Owner/Owners are unable to keep or maintain this Skye Dog/Bitch, the Seller reserves the first option to take this Skye Terrier back into his ownership, at New Owner/Owners expense, accompanied by its appropriate registration papers. If returned to Seller within 6 months, the purchase price will be refunded in full. After 6 months, the Seller will be able to take the Skye Dog/Bitch back for a purchase price of $200.00.
9. Due to the nature of the Skye Terrier breed, the New Owner/Owners agree to make every effort to socialize their puppy/adult at least weekly as they grow. Socializing will involve providing their skye with opportunities to experience new locations and situations and to allow them to meet new people.
10. The new owner agrees to notify seller of any change of personal contact information, including current address, phone number, and email address within 30 days of such change.
11. It is strongly urged that this contract be signed and witnessed. Owner/Seller shall sign the contract first with one-two witness(es) and shall request Purchaser to sign with two witnesses.
PLEASE DO NOT USE IVERMECTIN ON YOUR SKYE TERRIER. THIS IS A PRODUCT FOUND IN HEART WORM PREVENTATIVE--MAINLY HEARTGAURD. SKYES HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE FATAL REACTIONS TO THIS CHEMICAL. I PREFER INTERCEPTOR.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE LEPTOSPIROSIS VACCINE. SKYES HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE ADVERSE REACTIONS TO THIS. YOUR VET SHOULD ACCOMMODATE THIS REQUEST.
