Agreement of Sale of Puppy
1. Buyer will provide a safe indoor environment for puppy and take care of puppy and provide adequate food and annual veterinary visits and kept up-to-date on immunizations and a heartworm preventative.
2. The puppy is sold with a limited registration. This means the pup cannot be used for breeding unless the
following criteria is met. The dog receives its Utility title through NAVHDA and/or earns an AKC Hunt title of
at least Senior Hunter. The puppy will be registered with the suffix of vom Schlussstein on AKC and/or
NAVHDA registration papers.
3. All pups are checked by our licensed vet and given their first series of vaccines. Keystone Gun Dogs recommends that you bring your new puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of possession for an examination. However, by PA state law you have 10 days to bring your pup to a licensed vet. If your new puppy is found not to be in good health, with a letter from your licensed veterinarian stating so, buyer notifies Keystone Gun Dogs within 2 business days, and returns the puppy and the full purchase price will be refunded. Your puppy has a 1-year health guarantee from date of whelp for the following: hip dysplasia, (in which x-rays must be submitted to OFA), Von Willebrand's Disease, Heart Disease, Addison's Disease, eye disorders and Lupoid Dermatosis. If one of these health situations arises and the dog’s quality of life is compromised a refund up to the sell price of the puppy will be refunded. The seller shall not be responsible for any veterinarian expenses incurred by the buyer.
4. If it becomes necessary for Seller or Buyer to retain an attorney due to Buyer or Seller breach of contract, Buyer shall become responsible for all of Seller’s attorney’s fees and litigation shall take place in Pike County, PA.
5. If buyer cannot keep the puppy for reasons other than the health of the puppy, the puppy is to be returned with the AKC papers to Keystone Gun Dogs in sound temperament and proof that the puppy is current on vaccines including rabies and has a current dog license. Refunds are given only if the dog is found unhealthy according to Pennsylvania State Law.
6. Please do not let your puppy play with or chew on rocks, acorns, foreign matter, and do not leave your puppy unattended especially on decks that are high off the ground or on a tie-out. Do not let your puppy jump off the tailgates of pickup trucks. Do not jog or run with your puppy/dog until 3 years of age. Gentle exercise, short walks and a diet that promotes even, sustained growth is the ideal.
7. A copy of Proof of Immunizations must be submitted to Keystone Gun Dogs upon your pup’s final vaccination. We recommend that at your pups last vet visit you get your puppy micro-chipped.
8. If this contract is breeched the contract will become null and void.
Both parties enter this agreement with sincere intentions for the preservation of quality German Shorthaired Pointers and a mutual desire for the best interest of the breed.
