The new owner contract shown is a sample posted by this member as a representative of the agreement you would enter into prior to obtaining a puppy/dog from this breeder. It is not, nor does it imply, a contract with or guarantee by QualityDogs.com, endorsement by QualityDogs.com of this contract, or any responsibility, express or implied, by QualityDogs.com. The breeder listed is solely responsible for the content of this contract and its satisfaction. For your protection, QualityDogs.com recommends obtaining a printed, signed copy of any contract.

For purposes of this Agreement/Contract, the term “Breeder” shall refer to Robert Knapp Jr. of Color Star Farms.

The puppy/dog is guaranteed healthy at the time of purchase. The Purchaser has 48 hours (excluding Sundays) from the time of purchase to have the puppy/dog examined by his/her veterinarian as to soundness of health. If the veterinarian finds any major health problems, the cause which is clearly attributable to the Breeder, the Purchaser may bring the puppy/dog back to the Breeder, with a letter from the veterinarian explaining the problem he/she found.

The Breeder must be contacted within the 48-hour period after purchase as to any problems, and the puppy/dog must be returned within 72 hours of purchase. At this time the Breeder will, upon receipt of the puppy/dog and all items given with the puppy/dog, including the AKC papers to be signed back to the Breeder, refund to the Purchaser the full purchase price of the puppy/dog, by check or cash.
Any veterinarian's diagnosis shall be subject to confirmation by a veterinarian chosen by the Breeder. Should said veterinarian not agree with the diagnosis, the matter shall be presented to a third veterinarian mutually agreed upon by the Breeder and the Purchaser.

The puppy/dog is guaranteed against hip dysplasia, until his/her third birthday. If the puppy/dog develops hip dysplasia to the severity that the puppy/dog will be in pain, or unable to function, the puppy/dog and it’s AKC Registration papers will be returned to the Breeder and will replaced with a puppy/dog of equal quality. The owner must produce a x-ray of the puppy/dog hips and a letter from the veterinarian describing the severity before the puppy/dog will be replaced. The puppy/dog is guaranteed against deafness.
The puppy/dog is guaranteed against heritable heart, and kidney disease, until his/her third birthday.

The puppy/dog will be registered under AKC's Limited non-breedable registration. This means no puppies produced by this puppy/dog can be registered with AKC.

The Breeder is to be notified if the Purchaser moves, or can not keep the puppy/dog for any reason. The Breeder has first option to take the puppy/dog back from the Purchaser. If the Breeder does not want the puppy/dog the Breeder is to be notified as to the new owner's name, address, and phone number.
The Breeder is not responsible for any veterinarian bills or other bills the Purchaser may incur after purchase of the puppy/dog. Purchaser agrees to keep and house the puppy/dog in a clean and responsible manner, and to attend to any and all health concerns of the puppy/dog in a timely manner.

I, the Purchaser, have read and understand the terms of this Contract/Guarantee.
