Questions
Please tell us about your household -- who lives there, ages and occupations. This is just to give us an idea of who will be interacting with your new whippet.
Who will usually take care of the dog?
Will someone be at home during the day? If not, how many total hours will your whippet be alone? (As an example, if you come home at lunch, the answer might be four hours in the morning and four in the afternoon for a total of eight.)
Tell us about your home -- do you own, rent, lease? Do you live in the country, suburbs, city? Is your home an apartment or a house?
Do you have a fenced yard? If so, what type of fence and height? (example: six-foot privacy fence, four-foot picket, etc) If you don't have a fenced yard, how will you exercise your whippet?
Do you have other pets? What type and genders?
Have you owned dogs in the past? What happened to them?
Do you allow dogs on your furniture?
Where will your whippet sleep?
Where do you plan to keep your whippet when you are away from home? (Crate, in one room, loose in the house, in the yard, etc)
Have you lived with a sighthound before? (sighthounds include the basenji, Afghan, Borzoi, Rhodesian ridgeback, saluki, greyhound, whippet, etc)
Which of the following activities, if any, do you plan to participate in with your whippet? Conformation (showing), obedience, lure coursing, hobby racing, agility, flyball hiking, running, therapy, other. (It's okay to say you just want a couch buddy!)
If not planning to show your dog, are you willing to spay/neuter her/him?
Yes      No
Tell us something about what kind of whippet you want. Puppy? Older puppy or young adult? Mature dog? Do you have a color or gender preference?
Please add anything about yourself that will help us understand how a whippet would fit your home and lifestyle. Include amount of time spent at home, amount & range of physical activity, travel, entertaining, "noise level" of household, anything you want to add about your children, other pets, etc.
Finally, if we don't have a suitable whippet for you, is it all right for us to forward your information to other breeders who may be able to help? [Yes/No Answer]
Yes      No
How far are you willing to travel to pick up your puppy or dog?
We don't ship our dogs, but many good breeders do. Are you willing to consider having a whippet shipped to you by another breeder?
Yes      No
