The purpose of this contract is to describe to the buyer what safeguards and guarantees he/she can expect from an ethical breeder, demonstrate the integrity of the breeder and protect the interests of the breeder, buyer, and dog.
This is a legal and binding contract entered into by Amy White and/or Carrie Hoskeer (seller) herein and after know as breeder, and _______________ herein and after known as buyer. Failure to comply with this contract could result in litigation between breeder and buyer in the breeder’s state. Reasonable legal fees, court cost, and other expenses will be borne by the buyer should he/she be found in breach of contract.
Amina Kennel’s strives to produce a well- balanced versatile Rhodesian Ridgeback. We perform all required/necessary tests to protect the breed, remain conscious breeders. We breed not only for a sound show potentional ridgeback, but an all around companion.

The following terms set by the breeder are agreed upon by the buyer, and no other warranties or conditions are expressed or implied.
Health Guidelines
I. As can be reasonably determined by Amina Kennels through evaluation by Dr. Charlene Kickbush and staff at the time of execution of this Agreement, the dog, referenced herein and the subject hereof is in good health and free from any communicable diseases.
II. Within three business days after purchase it is the responsibility of the buyer to have the subject dog examined by a licensed veterinarian at the buyer ‘s expense. Within 10 days, buyer may elect to return the subject dog along with the AKC papers. Amina Kennels agrees to return the purchase price to buyer in exchange for the subject dog only if:
a) The subject dog is returned in the same state of health in which it was sold.
b) The subject dog has not suffered any intervening injury, illness or neglect.
c) There is a certified letter from a licensed veterinarian.
III. A full refund will not be given back to the buyer if the buyer has realized that the dog is too much responsibility or merely poor consideration in planning for a puppy.
IV. The buyer agrees to take proper safeguards for the care and safety of this dog including, but not limited to:
a) Proper shelter
b) Quality Diet
c) Veterinary Care
d) Proper Exercise
e) Secured Yard or Exercise Area
f) Buyer understands this IS and inside dog and agrees not to at anytime leave this dog out in the weather
V. The Buyer agrees that if the subject dog, do to any circumstance, must be relocated as a rescue, the buyer is obligated to notify Amina Kennels immediately to return the dog without a refund. Buyer swears that he/she is not buying this dog for another party to be sold to a pet shop, auction, or for fighting purposes. The breeder will take legal actions if this would be he case.
VI. If ever the dog is found to have a dermoid sinus the breeder will pay up to 300.00 for the surgery removal. A certified copy of the letter from a licensed veterinary must be mailed to the breeder. If the dermoid is inoperable the breeder will replace the dog with a puppy from the next litter.
Show/Breeding Dog
Co-owner contract
I. If the subject dog is purchased as a show/breeding dog, the buyer agrees not to breed the subject dog without OFA Hip & Elbow Clearance (good or excellent), thyroid clearance (normal), CERF clearance, and Cardiac clearance. Buyer further agrees that upon obtaining the genetic health clearances described above, buyer will only breed the subject dog to Rhodesian Ridgebacks which have also received OFA hip, elbow, thyroid and eye clearance.
II. DOG ONLY – the buyer understands the breeder reserves the right to use this dog at stud fee including collection of semen for future use. The breeder will pay all other fees associated with a breeding. Should the buyer decide to neuter the dog the breeder must be given reasonable time to collect semen.
III. The dog will be on a co-owner contract with the breeder, and must be shown. Amina Kennel’s will gladly remove their name off of the dog’s papers once the dog has completed his championship.
IV. BITCH ONLY – The buyer understands that the bitch will not be breed more than four times, and not after age 7, in her life, after her 2nd birthday, and never back to back breedings. She will receive a complete health check prior to each breeding.
V. BITCH ONLY – The buyer understand that All Necessary Health screening will be paid by buyer (OFA hips, elbows, thyroid).
VI. If the bitch develops as anticipated buyer agrees to allow bitch to be shown by breeder in any show breeder chooses. All show expenses, other than delivery, will be paid by breeder.
VII. The dog will be evaluated by the breeder when the puppy has turned 4 months, and 6 months before the dog is entered in the show ring. Amina Kennel’s will gladly show the dog for free, but buyer will be responsible for entry fee prior to the show. Buyer may elect to have a professional handler that the breeder agrees upon.
VIII. Breech of contract will result in legal action, with a monetary request of minimum five thousand dollars. If unauthorized breeding is found, 3000.00 per puppy produced will be requested.
Pet Quality
Spay or neuter contract
I. If the subject dog is purchased as a pet quality/non breed able dog, buyer agrees to have the dog spayed/neutered on or after the dogs one year birthday. Buyer agrees that no attempt will be made to breed the subject dog to any other dog, Rhodesian Ridgeback or otherwise. Buyer understands and agrees that any breeding of a pet quality/non breed able would cause harm to the reputation of Amina Kennels, and would therefore lead Amina Kennels to take action under these terms. .
II. Buyer understands that the dog will remain on AKC limited registration until breeder receives proof of spay/neuter.
