Avid Microchip Number _______________ this puppy has been permanently chipped for the purpose of identification. You must register the chip number in order to have access to the recovery system in case your dog is lost or stolen. Paperwork is included in your packet.
Regarding the sale of the above listed dog, the sellers and buyers agree to the following terms and conditions:
IF FOR ANY REASON, THIS ANIMAL IS FOUND TO BE UNSATISFACTORY OR IF, FOR ANY REASON, PURCHASER CAN NO LONGER KEEP THE DOG, PURCHASER AGREES TO RETURN THE DOG TO SELLER AT PURCHASER’S EXPENSE.
1. All puppies sold as “pet” are on a limited registration and shall be altered no sooner than 7 months and no later than 10 months of age.
2. Purchaser guarantees that this dog is NOT being purchased for resale and that the dog, nor any of the dog’s offspring, shall be sold, bartered or given to any pet shop or puppy mill.
3. Purchaser agrees that the prefix Bear-Acres will be used when registering with the American Kennel Club. No other registry is to be used without written permission of the seller.
4. Guarantee is void if Buyer neglects to keep the dog at an appropriate weight and this is defined as easily palpable ribs. Nutrition and weight can attribute to many health problems, hip issues, etc and care must be given to feed only PREMIUM dog foods. When feeding the higher quality foods you will have much less waste involved as well. Buyer also realizes that as the puppy is in the first year of growth their activity must be monitored to avoid life altering injuries. Treat your puppy as you would a toddler. Do not let them do anything that you would not let a 2 year old child do. Dog is not to be kept solely as an outside dog, nor shall it be kept chained or allowed to wander unattended. The Buyers agree to allow the Seller or the Seller’s representative to visit and physically inspect the dog at any time. If the dog appears to be neglected or abused the dog may be removed by the seller or their representative. They will do whatever is necessary for the medical and emotional needs of the dog. When a dog is found to be neglected the buyers agree to surrender and sign the akc papers over to the seller.
5. Purchaser agrees to notify Seller of any change of address or telephone number. We are here for the life of the dog!
6. Seller hereby guarantees this dog to be of good temperament and in good health at the time of sale, to the best of Seller’s knowledge. Animals sold as show or breeding prospects are also guaranteed to have no disqualifying faults under the current Breed Standard as defined by the American Kennel Club.
7. Buyer agrees to enroll and complete puppy obedience classes. This is necessary for the development of socialization skills needed for a happy healthy puppy. The puppy needs to take the beginner class and the advanced class. Actually the more classes the better for both of you!
8. No registration papers shall be given on any dog until the dog is paid for in full.
9. A replacement of equal or better value, when available, will be given if it is determined that this dog must be euthanized due to a congenital or hereditary defect as determined by the complete examination (including x-rays if necessary) by a reputable veterinarian. A full report of said examination is to be sent to Seller’s veterinarian for their review prior to animal being destroyed. Seller may elect to have said dog returned at Buyer’s expense. During the first 2 years total replacement is guaranteed, then for the next 3 years you will be given a 40% credit toward another dog.
10. This replacement/refund guarantee is void when said animal has been surgically altered (except in the case of neutering of pet stock) or when it has been bred.
11. Purchase price shall be paid in full before Purchaser takes possession of dog. Any amount paid at the time animal is shipped or picked up must be in cash or certified funds. Any shipping or transportation charges are the responsibility of Buyer.
12. Buyer also agrees to give the dog a vitamin supplement daily which is recommended by the breeder. Failure to do so will void your guarantee. The supplement is NuVet Plus and seller has furnished the brochure and samples of the daily tablets. The phone number to NuVet is 1-800-474-7044 and the order code is 55058.
13. All guarantees are void if dog is placed in another home without written permission of seller. And buyer will be subject to court proceedings and all costs involved in getting the dog back to the seller.
14. If it is found that the dog is being neglected or mistreated and seller has to go thru legal action to gain possession of the dog then the buyer will be liable for all legal fees incurred. Seller must be notified if buyer for any reason cannot care for the dog any longer. The dog must be returned to the seller unless other terms are agreed upon by both parties.
15. This guarantee is in effect for 5 years from the purchase date of the dog. The only time a cash refund is made is if the puppy is returned within 7 days of purchase.
16. The penalty for not abiding by this contract is $5,000 plus any attorney fees incurred to enforce it in a court of law.
We are always trying to better the health of our breeding program and we can’t do that without your help. When your dog turns a year old we require that you take them to a cardiologist for an ofa heart certification. And then after they are 2 they will need ofa x-rays completed on hips and elbows. The web site for the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals is offa.org. In the future should you purchase another puppy from our kennel we will deduct $200 off the cost of a new puppy! We appreciate your cooperation in trying to limit the health issues that affect this breed.
