GENETIC GUARANTEE

This is a written guarantee that your puppy/dog is free from any genetic/congenital problem until the age of 3 years. The genetic/congenital problem must be one that does affect or will affect the QUALITY OF LIFE of the puppy/dog. If any problem of the above mentioned is found within his/her first 3 years, please call us FIRST to discuss the situation BEFORE bringing the puppy/dog to the vet for the problem. We then will likely have you provide us with a vet-signed statement as to the nature of the problem. If, after our vets review the material from your vet, there is an agreement that there is a genetic/congenital problem that does or will affect the quality of life of the puppy/dog, then we will either refund the total purchase price or exchange for another puppy of equal value; which ever WE decide. If any vet care, such as an operation, can be performed to cure the puppy/dog, and it costs less than the total purchase price, then this is the amount that we will pay instead. If hip dysplasia is suspected, x-rays will be required to be taken AFTER the dog turns 2 years old and be sent to OFA for their evaluation. If a puppy exchange is necessary, we will either take back the affected puppy or you are welcome to keep him/her as well. There must be a thorough discussion of the situation between us and the puppy buyer immediately when the problem is suspected and throughout the entire situation for this guarantee to be valid.

If one or both testicles on a male puppy have not fully descended, this guarantee does NOT include this problem because vets highly recommend that all puppies/dogs be neutered.

This guarantee does NOT include allergies.

In order to obtain the full benefits of this genetic guarantee, each buyer of our puppies must have their puppy on large-breed puppy food. Research is finding that rapidly growing large-breed puppies are more inclined to exhibit developmental bone problems and that controlling calcium, phosphorus, and calorie levels in their diet promotes normal skeletal development. Your puppy, therefore, should be on large-breed puppy food until fully grown which for your puppy is up until approximately the date listed on the genetic guarantee in the folder given to you when you received your puppy. .

You need to have some means of proof that your puppy is on large-breed puppy food until the age that he/she is fully grown. Either cut out the large-breed labels from your puppy food bags or save your receipts if they indicate that the puppy food is large-breed puppy food. Please check with your vet to make sure that the brand of large-breed puppy food is recommended.

We will now be adding a stipulation to our two guarantees. It will be as follows: Each of our puppies must be spayed and neutered by the age of seven months in order for the genetic and general health guarantees to be valid. (Neutering by the age of six months gives the greatest behavior changes, however.) If anything occurs before the age of 9 months in the line of what these two guarantees cover, then we will reimburse the puppy buyer after the puppy is neutered or spayed and the following are sent to us: a copy of the neuter/spay certificate AND receipt and a copy of the vet receipts for the last puppy shot (DHLPP), rabies shot, and current heartworm preventative given. This all must be sent to us by the time the puppy is 9 months old for our two guarantees to be valid and for any reimbursement to be made.

This stipulation is being added because of the following three things:

1.} We have always intended our puppies to be just good quality pets, not breeding stock. We have been recently getting a number of phone calls from those who have already bought puppies from us as well as possible puppy buyers expressing strongly their desire to breed our puppies.

2.} All dogs that are neutered or spayed live longer, on the average two to three years longer. The health risks associated with a non-neutered or non-spayed dog are substantially reduced. To sum it up, a neutered or spayed dog will be a healthier dog.

3.} In order for each of our Malamute puppies, whether a purebred of a mix, to become the best that they are intended to be, neutering and spaying helps to perfect their temperament and behavior.

THIS GUARANTEE IS NOT VALID UNLESS THE ABOVE IS FOLLOWED AS WELL AS OUR GENERAL HEALTH GUARANTEE AND OUR EIGHT POLICIES. THIS GUARANTEE ALSO IS NOT VALID IF THE PUPPY/DOG CHANGES HOMES WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF JIM AND PAT KOOL.

GENERAL HEALTH GUARANTEE

We guarantee that each one our puppies are healthy. If you find that your puppy's health in general does not appear to be O.K., please call us IMMEDIATELY and BEFORE bringing him/her to the vet for the suspected problem. After discussing the situation, if we believe that you should bring the puppy to the vet, and your vet and our vets find something wrong with the puppy that is our fault, then we will pay your vet bill. If your vet, however, charges an excessive price compared to the vets in our area, then we will only pay what would have been charged by vets here. If there is not discussion of the problem between us and the puppy buyer immediately when suspected and BEFORE the puppy is brought to the vet, this guarantee is invalid.

In order to obtain the full benefits of this general health guarantee, we must hear immediately when the first symptoms are noticed. Also, you must follow all of your vet's and our vets' recommendations in the areas pertaining to general health: Some of these will be listed below, but you must ask your vet for his/her recommendations for proper general health principles: Follow the 10-day switch for puppy food, get the shots on time and keep your puppy out of public places until all the series of puppy shots is completed, give a heartworm preventative monthly that is also for fleas and the 3 major worms. IF ANY DIARRHEA OR VOMITTING OCCUR, PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY.

This guarantee does not include worming of any type, including giardia. We have done all the worming allowed by our vets, and it is the new owner's responsibility to have a worming check done when the puppy is around 11 weeks old and do any further worming necessary as indicated by the new owner's vet.

Any reimbursement that must be made will be done after the puppy owner sends us a copy of the neuter/spay certificate AND receipt and a copy of the vet receipt(s) for the last puppy shot(DHLPP), rabies shot, and heartworm preventative that also provides protection from the three major worms, and some type of flea protection.

THIS GUARANTEE IS NOT VALID UNLESS THE ABOVE IS FOLLOWED AS WELL AS OUR GENETIC GUARANTEE AND OUR EIGHT POLICIES. THIS GUARANTEE IS ALSO NOT VALID IF THE PUPPY/DOG CHANGES HOMES WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF JIM AND PAT KOOL.
