BUYER AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING
1) This dog/bitch will visit the veterinarian of the Buyer’s choice no less than once each year, and will receive any and all preventative vaccinations and reasonable treatments advised by the veterinarian.
2) Buyer agrees to provide this dog/bitch with adequate food, shelter and exercise as is required for its maintenance. Further, this dog/bitch will be maintained primarily as a “house dog”, and will not be left outside unattended for any longer than brief periods of time, and never left unattended in an unfenced situation. At no time will its primary place of residence be an outdoor enclosure, nor will it be tied outside except for such brief periods as may be required when traveling or away from the Buyer’s home.
3) This dog/bitch will receive proper socialization and training, including at least two eight (8) week courses within one year of purchase with the first course beginning before this dog is six months old. This could be a puppy kindergarten or obedience classes.
4) The Buyer acknowledges the necessity of health screening of all dogs/bitches, including “pets”, to enable the Seller to do the best job possible of eliminating inheritable health defects form their dogs. Further, the Buyer acknowledges the necessity of this screening to validate the Seller’s health guarantee. Therefore the Buyer agrees that the following health screening be performed (at Buyer’s expense).
a) A pelvic radiograph (X-ray) will be taken and submitted to OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) for evaluation between the ages of 24 and 30 months of age, and a copy of this evaluation will be provided to the Seller when it is received. Elbows will also be radiographed and Submitted to OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) for evaluation at this time.
b) This dog/bitch will have its eyes examined and submitted to CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) between the ages of 24 and 30 months, and a copy of this evaluation will be provided to the Seller when it is received.
c) The Buyer agrees to immediately notify the Seller of any health problem that should occur with this dog/bitch that the Buyer’s veterinarian considers to be inheritable (or possibly inheritable).
5) If for whatever reason the Buyer no longer can, or no longer wishes, to keep this dog/bitch, Seller shall have first right of refusal to require the dog. Any transfer of the dog will require the approval of the seller: such approval will not be unreasonably withheld.
