Misty Maples Golden Kennels has taken many precautions to prevent this puppy/dog from acquiring hereditary defaults. All breeding stock has health clearances and a 5 generation pedigree that copies will be supplied to you upon completion of this transaction. Pictures will likely also be included for you to view also. Clearances on both parents help reduce the risk of progeny developing problems in the future, but there is no guarantee. Please be aware that how you raise your puppy/dog can affect the outcome of its health. Hip dysplasia can be caused by injury, poor nutrition, obesity or abuse. We recommend using a balanced proper diet (ask for specific dog food choices), plenty of access to fresh clean water, and using a probotic supplement (such as TARGET) throughout the Golden Retrievers life. Over exercising is detrimental to your Golden Retrievers Health. Over exercising is as follows: running with the dog or jumping the dog, running or jumping the dog on hard concrete or asphalt surfaces, steep gullies or ditches, or allowing the dog to jump down from high places (i.e. pickups or veterinary tables, furniture, etc.). Also avoid prolonged exposure to slippery or damp flooring. Avoid strenuous exercise and do not jog your dog (especially on asphalt) until he/she is at least 18 months old. Although “Agility” can be a fun and rewarding sport, it is well documented that jumping can do major damage to growing joints, therefore you should not participate in jumping activities until he/she has reached at least 18 months of age. All breeding pairs have been chosen based on their attractive, sound and correct physical traits, as well as what we do know of the general lack of primary disease states in this puppy's immediate and extended ancestry. Buyer is recommended to review the list of common diseases of Golden Retrievers and understands that buying this breed of dog can be considered a risk closely associated with the enormous popularity and demand of same.
