Companion Dog Contract & Guarantee
The puppy you purchased is guaranteed to be healthy at the time of purchase. To the seller’s knowledge this dog is free of any contagious disease. The puppy will be current on all vaccinations and de-worming at the time of purchase. It is the responsibility of the buyer to keep up on the puppy’s vaccinations and de-worming. The puppy will remain with the seller until full payment is made by the buyer. Total purchase price is payable in certified funds, i.e. postal money order, cashiers check, or cash. All shipping charges and crate fees are the responsibility of the buyer. This puppy is a purebred and is eligible for limited registration through the American Kennel Club. The puppy is sold as a pet/ companion dog and will live in the house as part of the family. If for any reason the buyer is unable to keep this dog, the buyer is to give the seller first right of refusal of the dog at an amount no higher than the purchase price. The buyer will not sell this dog to any pet store, or other similar facility and the puppy will not be left at any animal shelter, or humane society.
The puppy is also guaranteed for one year against any hereditary or congenital disorder that may interfere with the puppy’s ability to lead a normal pet’s life. In the event of such occurrence, the seller would replace the puppy with a pup from the first available litter of equal value under the following conditions: Providing a veterinarian statement is submitted to the seller and her Veterinarian within three days from the date of the diagnosis as to the nature of the problem. The buyer will include test results, written Veterinary diagnosis, etc. At the seller’s option and expense the puppy will be returned to the seller for further diagnosis prior to replacement. AKC registration will transfer full ownership back to the seller. If said puppy dies within one year of purchase due to a genetic condition the seller will replace the puppy once the following has been performed: A Veterinarian must perform a necropsy and forward the results to the seller and her Vet for review. If the Seller’s vet agrees and finds the dog died from a genetic illness, the puppy will be replaced. In the event a replacement puppy is provided, all shipping costs involved are the buyer’s responsibility. No other guarantees are made or implied by the seller except those stated in this written agreement. This puppy was purchased as a pet, so there are no guarantees that this puppy will be show or breeding quality. All guarantees are on a replacement basis only. No refunds or reimbursement of medical expenses. Any litigation must be taken Bertie County, North Carolina.
