I just was given a Chihuahua three days ago and she's 8 weeks old. I keep finding ticks all over her. I found the first one on my way home from getting her so I know it wasn't from my house but I have found a total of five others on her since then and it's making me nervous. I've been taking them off with tweezers and none have regrown but I don't know what to do about this. Please help me.

Yikes - ticks are awful. I would suggest you put a dose of Frontline plus on your puppy. You will have to make sure she is big/heavy enough, but I think you can dose at age 8 weeks. If you live in an area prone to ticks, you'll want to give your puppy a lyme vaccine annually, also.

Ticks do not regrow. They are not a growth, they are a parasitic insect. Once you remove them, they are gone unless you are in an area prone to ticks and the dogs is picking them up that way.

Ticks can carry many nasty diseases, so my advice would be to take this dog to the vet ASAP to get it checked over for any possible problems.

Well, i think that you should leave it for about three days and if she still has them, I would recommend you take your little pooch to the vet. Yes it may cost a bit of money, but this is just my suggestion. It is totally up to you.

What is the purpose in waiting three days?!
