I am new to this board. I have a 7 year old lab/Mastiff. He has been diagnosed with Hypercalcemia. His blood tests came back normal as well as his white cell count. The vet has him on antibiotics three times a day just in case it is some internal infection. He won't eat very much at all, has lost quite a bit of weight. He is lethargic and seems depressed. All symptoms of Hypercalcemia. Since he has been diagnosed, he won't drink out of his water bowl anymore or any bowl for that matter. He will only drink out of the hose or a puddle, he won't even drink hose water out of a bowl. Has anyone had any experience with this?Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I would call your vet and discuss this further..
more additional tests may be needed.. to pimpoint why she has a high blood calcium level..
this condition is often a symptom secondary to somthing else.. often a other serious issue.. Tumors are the most common cause of a high blood calcium.. and could be why she is now feeling crappy..
Overall a high blood calcium level is NEVER a good thing.. Sorry..
It can be hard to diagnose but again further diagnostics may be in order..

Info for you on this condiditon

good luck
