I recently discovered my neighbors 1 year old Maltese stuck to my 2 1/2 year old Yorkie. ( i had NO idea she was in Heat) She is about 5-6 lbs and he is about 7-8lbs..he is bigger than she is and im worried that this might be a problem for her...How do i know if she is pregnant and what steps do i take to ensure the welfare of my dog...My main concern right now is my baby girl...( i know i should have spayed her, now i have to pay for my mistakes) PLEASE HELP! any and all info is welcomed!

9/29/08 At 5-6 lbs she is big enough to safely have those puppies. When she gets fat, you will know. It takes a total of 9 weeks to deliver from breeding date and she will show a fat tummy before that. If you like, you can get an xray, but its best to just wait. If she labors for more than 1 hour without producing a puppy, seek your vet. Best of luck! Lisa Lisa
