A Visitor asked the following question on 11/30/2005
I have a 7-wk old puppy, and have noticed that when he uses the bathroom, no matter where he does it, he will quickly turn around and try to eat it. He does not do this when he urinates. I have to watch him extra close and when he's done I have to take him completely away from the area. What makes him do this? Is there any way I can stop him?

Usually a puppy will eat his own waste if he is not getting enough nutrients from his food. The only way to stop him is to feed him a top quality food, such as Eukanuba, Science Diet, etc.
