if you get a husky puppy or dog do they need to be cold because i know they come from alaska and everyone says they cant live in iowa because of the heat is that ture?

Huskies are very resilient dogs... the same undercoat that insulates them against the extreme cold also insulates them well in the heat. We raise huskies in Texas and they have adapted very well. It is necessary for you to always provide shade and fresh water, and a swimming pool (small plastic kiddie pool) during the summer for them to "lounge" in. If the truth be know, my black lab, with his short, shiny black hair, suffers in the heat more than our huskies. www.heroshuskies.com
