my rottweiler just turned 8 yrs old in nov. i would like a offspring from here but i was wondering if it was to late?

12/15/07 Typically Rottweilers are retired, or at least should be by the time they are 7 years of age, and generally start breeding at the age of 2 1/2. I would NOT recommend breeding your female for the first time at 8 years old, there are too many risks involved at this point. It would be best to breed a younger female after ALL health clearances are done (I.e. Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Heart, Thyroid, Etc...). Frank
