A Visitor asked the following question on 8/29/2006
My pom went into heat in late July and now it is August 29 and her nipples have enlarged and her belly feels hard. At times you can lay her down and rub her belly and feel some kind of little lumps that are about an inch wide and about 2 inches long. She has some kind of discharge that's a little sticky and gets stuck to her fur. We took her to the vet and they took blood work on her to check if she had any kind of infection and the results came back negative. They took an X-ray but it would have been too soon to see anything anyways (inwhich the e-ray showed that her insides were pushed up a little bit). She has gained about a 1 1/2lbs in the past month. This will be her second pregnancy if she turns out to be pregnant. What do you think? Please if possible write back telling me what you think. Thank you.

Sounds pregnant to me.... Could also be a false pregnancy though. You could get an ultrasound done, or you could just wait and see. For now treat her like she is pregnant just in case she is, feed her smaller more frequent meals of a high quality puppy food. Good luck!
