my mastiff wont stop itching. i searched high and low for fleas and found none. i took him to the vet and he said maybe its dry skin. does anyone have any tips?

What food are you feeding him? It very well could be some kind of food allergy. If it's truely just dry skin (which I doubt) you can ad just a bit of vegie oil to his food, you won't see results for about 3-4 weeks.
