what outside cold temperature can my yellow lab withstand?

As long as there is fresh water and shelter from wind they can withstand temps below freezing. Usually when it gets much lower than 10-15 we will bring ours in the house. A good quality doghouse and straw or wood shavings will keep them happy, dry and warm.
