3/1/10 Just because there are breed specs and a DQ for height for a show dog, doesn't mean that your dog is not full blooded. Sometimes the mixture of the DNA will take color from both dogs and end up with "too much" . The 51% actually has to be "back and top" color (white on the belly doesn't count). Another consideration, since we don't DNA our litters, is to make sure you buy from a reputable breeder. Unfortunately, with the popularity of the breed, we have a lot of people "jumping on the bandwagon" to make a buck and don't really care about the quality of the dogs they are breeding. Some people have also been guilty of "slipping in" fiest and even Beagle crosses since it is hard to distinguish when they are very small. So, just do your homework on your breeder and ask to see other pups they have produced. Billie
