Hate to sound redundant: What did the breeder feed?
If you have to ask, it probably isn't. There are many good to great foods that are not terribly expensive.

I use Purina One for the large breed. My dogs are healthy and I give my new owners a sample of the food the puppy has been eating. Plus, this is so common you can but it almost anywhere.
