How effective would an "invisable" electric fence be in containing a mature Pyrenees over a 3-4 acre area?

2/17/05 I have never personally used electric fences. From what I have seen, read and discussed with pyr owners they are only effective in a Pyr who is willing to be contained. Pyrs tend to have a strong desire to roam if they are not in good fencing most breeders will tell all new owners that if you don't have really good fencing they will feel it is their resposiblity to be the guardian of the neighborhood. 2/28/05 I agree, Pyrs can and will go through electric fences and invisible fences. They have a very high tolerance for pain and this type of fencing will not deter them if they feel they need to be somewhere else. The other issue - the invisible fencing does not stop other dogs from coming in. Regina
