My dog seems to suffer from some form of lip inection, the lip is completely black in the corner and smells terrible. It seems to hurt when I touch it. I have been disinfecting it with mouth betadine for a few days, but this doesn't get any better. Should I see the vet about this or can I solve this problem myself?

You should definitly see a vet if the infection is this bad. Your dog is probably in a lot of pain. This is called a lip fold infection and is easily treatable with a topical medication prescribed by your veterinarian. You can prevent infection (after this one is treated and clears up) by carefully keeping the location clean and dry.
