How do you get a long haired chihuahua? My boyfriend insists you need two longhaired parents. I think just one. My chi's mom is short and dad is long, and I am hoping their next litter has a longhair in it (which my dog was supposed to be according to not so smart breeder). BF says it's impossible and to quit hoping.

It IS possible. If both smooth coat parents carry a hidden long coat gene, they can produce a long coat puppy.
