How old should Chihuahua puppies be when you buy one?

4/11/07 Depends on the size and maturity of the particular pup. Tiny ones, under a pound should stay with the breeder longer. Most of my pups are ready to go at 8 weeks. I do not ship. If a breeder ships, the pup should be older. Shipping is traumatic. I will not do it. Ruth

4/18/07 For me I don't let my babies go before they are 10 weeks old and 2 pounds. If I have a baby that is under 2 pounds he must wait until he is 2 pounds, depending on the puppy experience in the home. I won't air ship a baby under 2 pounds. Mary
