i currently have a short haired chihuahua and i'm planning to buy a long haired chihuahua and i'm wondering if i can breed long haired with short?

11/21/05 yes you can and they usually come out lovely. much fuller coats like a stuffed animal but without the long edges sticking out. and they dont shed near as much. they are great chihuahuas for the east coast where the weather is colddddddddd. much thicker coats. RUE

12/7/05 inter breeding coats is not something I would recomend. It usually results in a coat that is neither short nor long enough to be long. It you are breeding ethically to breed standard beware of the coat problems ahead. Jamie
