Does anyone have a chi that is constantly itching or scratching itself? My Rosita, 5 years old, has extreme sensitivity along her back to her tail. Every time you touch her there, she will start moving her back leg in a scratching motion. The vet thinks it is allergies and we are constantly giving her cortisone shots or pills. Would like to develop a safer approach. We bath her often while she has these fits and we feed her lamb food from Science Diet. Any help would be appreciated. Ron

10/27/05 A GOOD OLD REMEDY FOR THIS IS TO RUB HER DAILY WITH BABY OIL. I HAVE BEEN RAISING THEM FOR OVER 20 YRS AND HAD A BREEDER TELL ME THIS YRS AGO, SHE HAD BEEN BREEDING FOR YRS THEN! SOMETIMES THE NEW STUFF DOESNT WORK WELL AND A SIMPLE OLE TIME REMEDY WILL WORK. RUE

10/29/05 My moms dog was the same way, she use to give hers cod fish oil pills?? I think that is what it was.. Or you could add a little Veggy oil to there food.. I had a friend tell me to use V05 Condis.. That helps also. Patricia

12/7/05 Our vet has one of our former chihuahuas taking childrens benadryl daily for itching due to alergies. If the itching is to sever it can lead to eye infections and loss of the eye. The benadryl works great and is painless and inexpensive too! Jamie
