8/23/08 A Boxella boxer is unique in that it may have over 50 years of refinement under the guidance of one of the best known boxer breeders, importers and judges around, Joseph Heine. Joseph Heine has been one of the most experienced and successful breeders in Boxerdom. His kennel has produced a huge number of champions and those who are fortunate enough to get not only access to his bloodlines, but his personal guidance, have experienced success as well. I feel very fortunate to have Boxella dogs liberally scattered through all my dog's pedigrees and to be able to say that I have been one of those who has benefited from the guidance of Joe Heine. The boxer world has lost a great leader with the retirement of Joe Heine (he's not dead, just very old). He worked tirelessly with others to improve the quality of American bred boxers, often thru the incorporation of import bloodlines. So, what makes a Boxella dog different from others? I would say it is the love and devotion of a Lucinda

9/9/08 To clarify a bit, Boxella is a kennel name, not a separate "breed" or "variety" of Boxer. Of course each breeder has certain traits they try to emphasize in their breeding program, but "Boxellas" are still Boxers, through and through. :) Jennifer
