Generally a heat is noticeable, the vulva will swell and she will bleed. She is not ready to breed, however, until she is at least two years old and has had appropriate genetic health screening performed:

Please make sure you are breeding your Boxer for the right reason. It helps to have a reputable breeder with the stud dog and they will be able to mentor you thru everything. Please research your pedigree and the studs to make sure you are going to be producing health lines.
