I have a female boxer that is six months old. I feel as though she needs a playmate. Does the female get along better with another female or a male boxer?

Yes, generally speaking opposite-sex pairs get along better. I would really suggest waiting until your other dog is a couple of years old before getting a new puppy, though - it's *a lot* of work to raise two Boxer puppies at once!
