11/5/06 If you purchase an Olde Bulldogge puppy from a breeder who's main concerns are health and temperament, then no you should not have excessive health issues with this breed. They are much healthier than your regular English Bulldog. Sandy

11/16/06 I have no experience with the Olde English, but I do breed English Bullies. I would recommend doing the research on any breeder that you are interested in buying from. There are some reputable breeders with wonderful lines that health problems are not a factor. Beware though, puppy mills and such do breed for the money and could care less about the health of the puppies. Most of the time you get what you pay for. You WILL NOT find a $400 bulldog. These are scammers. Be careful, it is an investment of your hard earned money!! JAIME

9/25/08 Absolutely, do research the breeder and their lines thoroughly. A reputable breeder will know their lines and any health problems, and will NOT breed dogs with heritable health issues. Having said that, though, the reality is that the breed on average does have a higher instance of certain problems. Steve
