Our dog is a rescue & we're not sure it's a pure Belguim Malinois. He has all the usual characteristics except for his floppy ears. They give him a sweet, non-threatening look & people often comment on his beautiful face. If his ears are floppy, does that mean he's not a pure Malinois?

1/15/06 Floppy ears doesnt mean the dog is not purebred, it just means somewhere in the dogs past was a breeding of dogs with not as tight of ears as one might want, sometimes I will get a pup with on ear slightly more floppy than the other. I breed for working ability, not necessarily for looks, others breed for looks and not necessarily working ability. So in my opinion, floppy ears doesnt mean the dog isnt a purebred. Does your dog have AKC papers? Robert
