A Visitor asked the following question on 12/24/2006
My mal had non contagious mites which were cleared up with antibiotics and mitoban and ivomec. Every 3 months or so she's back at licking n biting her feet until she actually rips the black pads off. This time she also chewed up her back and by her rear end. Under her arms her hair seems to be falling out and the skin very pink. She's seems to be itchy n he has her on Benadryl also. Her feet are bloody n oozing looking the pads mostly gone in the back again and red n oozing between her toes. Vet put her back on antibiotics n ivomec. I'm wondering if it could be more than mites. She also seems to not be responding this time to the meds. She's an indoor dog spoiled rotten with no stress lives with a Great Dane. She's had this problem since she was a pup my brilliant son boughther at a pet shop in a mall though I told him to use rescue so I'm assuming she's a puppy mill dog. She also has a strong nasty odor to her. Thanks for any help! Renee N Piper

4/27/07 I would recommend taking your dog to a specialist. There are allergy specialists that can deal with this type of infection. I would ask for a referral. Cindy
