how old should your akita be for healthy breeding?

Your akita should have all Othopedic Animal Foundation (OFA) tests done prior to breeding with a score of fair or better and this testing can not be done until 2 years of age. Also akitas suffer from thyroid disorders and should be tested for this yearly. This applies to both male and female.
