How did you hear about us/were you referred?
* Why a Havanese? For companion? Agility? Therapy work? Showing? For the wife? The kids? Yourself? Just to smooch?
* Describe your perfect dog (age, color, gender, temperament, etc)
Are you working with another breeder? Please always be honest when visiting multiple breeders so they may take precautionary steps to protect their dogs - specially when there are unvaccinated puppies on the ground.
* Please list household members & age
* Where will you keep your Havanese during the day?
* How about in the evening?
* How many hours on average do you expect to leave your Havanese alone?
* Is there a fenced yard, will you walk or both?
* What other pets do you have?
Have you had a dog before? What happened to him/her?
What vet have you used in the past?
* What is your time frame for getting a puppy? Are you willing to wait for a litter to be born? (It's great fun to get weekly updates and watch them grow!!)
* Will you take your Havanese with you when you travel? If not, who will care for it?
* So how did you arrive at the decision of getting a Havanese? Have you met one in person? What do you like about them, what are you concerned about?
As the Vice President of the Independent Havanese Club (www.havaneseclub.org) it breaks my heart when people contact me with stories of the pet shop puppy, designer breed, brokers w/multiple breeds, or Imported dogs. As a breeder it's difficult to learn everything just about one breed. Be sure you buy from a breeder that is involved in the breed and is knowledgeable, does the recommended health
