Three Cedars Retrievers Puppy Guarantee
Your Three Cedars Retriever puppy will come to you in excellent health. Your pup’s dew claws will have been removed. He or she will have begun a deworming regimen and will have had the first series of shots. About seven weeks of age your pup will receive a complete physical from our Veterinarian, Dr. Constance Donovan Matson (donovanc@vt.edu.). Your puppy will have a microchip implanted for permanent positive identification. You will receive copies of all reports generated on your puppy including a copy of the whelping record and litter weight record as well as any reports generated by our Veterinarian and AKC registration forms. You will need to contact your Veterinarian to setup your pup’s ongoing health maintenance plan.
We have carefully selected and then tested our sires and dams to ensure they are not affected by EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse) or CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy). We will not breed any pair where there is a possibility of having puppies that are affected by these genetically linked diseases. When our breeding dogs reach twenty four months of age their hips and elbows are x-rayed and certified for dysplasia by OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, www.offa.org) and annually their eyes are checked and certified by CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation, www.vmdb.org/cerf.HTML). When appropriate our dogs will also have a CHIC (Canine Health Information Center, www.caninehealthinfo.org/) registration number. Because we know our dogs and their histories we offer our pups with a 30 month guarantee from their whelp date as noted here. 36 months with Optional NuVet Plus Extension. If a licensed veterinarian confirms that the puppy we sold you is unsound due to a serious genetic defect of the hips, elbows or eyes or is affected by either EIC or CNM we offer two possible solutions. We reserve the right to get a confirming diagnosis on any adverse health condition.
1.Return the dog to us and we will replace it free of charge (excluding transportation costs) from the next available similar breeding.
2.If you prefer to keep the dog, we will refund fifty percent of the purchase price after you provide proof that the dog has been sterilized.
Due to the varying kinds of food and different environmental conditions the puppies come in contact with; and the fact that all puppies have immune systems that take time to mature, we highly recommend NuVet Plus® immune system builder to help them maintain optimal health. We are so confident NuVet Plus will benefit your new puppy; we extend our normal guarantee by 6 months if you use NuVet. To qualify for this guarantee extension you must give your new puppy NuVet Plus, using the manufacturer’s recommended daily dosage, for the entire guarantee period. Failure to do so makes this guarantee extension null and void.
This guarantee is void if the dog is determined to be overweight or has been injured. This includes injuries caused by placing excessive physical demands upon a young dog. This guarantee is void if the dog has been bred.
Under no circumstance will we pay or reimburse veterinarian bills or other expenses after the puppy has left our care.
