The Breeder Warrants and Agrees:
1. HEATH GUARANTEE: The puppy is in sound body and good health at the time of the sale. The Breeder grantees the puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian and has been deemed healthy and is not known to carry any infectious diseases or genetic abnormalities. The puppy has received all relevant shots and worming treatments and has a current health certificate prepared by the Breeder’s veterinarian for the Buyer. The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days after receipt of the puppy. The Buyer agrees to notify the breeder immediately in the event that the puppy has a health defect. All documentations of ill health must be in writing from the Buyer’s licensed veterinarian. If the puppy is ill (not poisoned) or defective, the Buyer is entitled to a full refund of the puppy’s purchase price upon the immediate return of the puppy to the Breeder, together with any and all papers pertaining to registering the puppy. The Breeder does not reimburse for veterinarian expenses. The Breeder reserves the right to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of the Breeder’s choice, at the Breeder’s expense, for a second opinion of the condition. If the Buyer decides to keep the puppy, the Buyer is not entitled to any or part of the purchase price of the puppy nor will the Breeder pay any or part of the Buyer’s veterinarian fees.
Medical Conditions Covered By Warrantee:
The Breeder has done everything possible to eliminate hereditary diseases and problems by testing, care, pedigree planning and selection. The breeder has followed all guidelines from the Golden Retriever Club of America to ensure that the Breeder’s dogs have had all appropriate and recommended genetic tests before they were bred.
A. The puppy is warranted, excluding conditions not covered below, to the age of twenty- five (25) months against bi-lateral hip dysplasia as diagnosed by the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA).
B. The puppy is warranted, excluding conditions not covered below, to the age of twenty- five (25) months against bi-lateral elbow dysplasia, consisting of ununited anconeal process, or fragmented coronoid process as diagnosed by the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA).
C. The puppy is warranted to the age of twenty five (25) months to be free of the genetic cardiac condition known as Sub-Aortic Stenosis as diagnosed by the Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Medicine, Cardiology Specialty or a certification by the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) by a cardiologist (number followed by a C).
D. The puppy is warranted to the age of twenty five (25) months to be free of Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and Pigmentary Uveitis as diagnosed by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (AVCO) Diplomates or from the Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF).
If the puppy is diagnosis by OFA/CERF to have a GENETIC defect regarding hips, elbows, heart, or eyes; that condition will be warranted providing copies of the reports indentify puppyviamicrochipnumber,andhavebeensentdirectlytobreederfromOFA/CERF. Ifa warranted problem has been found, Buyer must show proof that the puppy has been spayed or neutered. The Buyer will keep said puppy may obtain a replacement puppy, when available. It is understood that no money will be refunded. This guarantee applies only to the original Buyer and is non-transferable
E. No warrantee is given if a female puppy is spayed before 12 months and a male neutered before the age of 18 months
Conditions Not Covered By Warrantee:
A. OSTEOCHONDRITIS DISSECANS (OCD) and HYERTROPHIC OSTEIDYSTRIPHY (HOD) can be the result of poor nutrition, improper exercise, extended confinement. The breeder does not warrant for either diagnosis.
B. Any unilateral diagnosis of hip or elbow dysplasia. This can be the result of excessive exercise, injury from jumping, and or rough play. The breeder reserves the right not to warrant for environmental factors outside the Breeder’s control.
C. No warrantee is given for Entropian or Extropian of the eye.
D. Breeding the puppy will void all warrantees.
Breeder Responsibility:
A. The Breeder guarantees that this puppy is a purebred Golden Retriever, the offspring of the purebred sire and dam listed at the beginning of this contract.
B. The Breeder has a lifetime commitment to this puppy. With this commitment the Buyer should never consider euthanizing the dog or taking him/her to an animal shelter. The Breeder will take the dog back during any time during the lifetime of the dog.
C. The Breeder will release all AKC paper work within thirty days of receipt of proof of spay or neutering from a licensed veterinarian.
D. This puppy is a family companion animal. The Breeder encourages the Buyer to pursue AKCsanctionedeventsforlimitedregisteredAKCdogs. ForeveryAKCobediencetitlethe dog earns, starting with the AKC Star Puppy award, the Breeder will pay the Buyer $25 (capping at $150).
Buyer Warrants and Agrees:
A. This puppy shall be maintained and kept under the personal control of the Buyer at all times. The Buyer will provide the puppy with proper housing, food and veterinary care
(including all appropriate vaccinations), basic obedience training and never shall the puppy be mistreated or neglected. Further the Buyer agrees to never tie or tether the puppy to a fixed object. The puppy is considered a family companion and as such will live within the confines of the family home and not in an outside kennel. The puppy will not be left alone for extended periods of time (more than three hours) as this can lead to antisocial behavior.
B. The Buyer understands that proper nutrition is imperative for a healthy and happy life. The Buyer agrees to feed the puppy a high caliber pet food that is rated either a four or five stars by www.dogfoodadvisor.com. The Buyer further agrees not to over or underfeed the puppy. Either under or overfeeding the puppy will void the contract.
C. The Buyer agrees that the puppy will be provided with daily exercise and mental stimulation. The Buyer agrees to provide the personal time, love and human connection needed by a Golden Retriever to develop and mature emotionally.
D. If circumstances arise that would prevent the buyer from keeping this puppy, the Buyer promises not to discard this dog, and to make every effort to place the puppy in another suitable home. The Buyer will inform the Breeder of any possible placement and the Breeder has the right to stop the re-housing. This dog shall not be turned over to any animal shelter, pet store, laboratory, puppy mill or rescue organization. If the Buyer is unable to locate a suitable home for the dog, the dog shall be returned to the Breeder free of charge.
E. The Buyer agrees to spaying a female at 12 months of age and neutering a male at 18 months of age.
