Pinnacle Australian Shepherds
The choice to bring home a new puppy is not one to be taken lightly. I feel that it is important that the relationship between puppy owner and breeder be given the utmost consideration. Aussies are not for everyone. Please choose your breed and breeder carefully.
Please be aware that we do few litters here at Pinnacle. We invest a tremendous amount of time into researching genetics and mental soundness prior to each litter, and into the raising of these puppies.
Here at Pinnacle our puppies are whelped and raised in our home. They are handled and socialized specifically to each of their individual needs. We tend to them carefully, raising them on a holistic diet (raw & dry), giving them limited vaccines and all necessary health care preventatives and are eye check cleared by a certified canine ophthalmologist.
In addition, we determine each individual puppy’s placement according to that specific puppy’s personality, and by the role it will play within it’s new family. As breeders, we feel it most important to place each puppy in the right home. And as a result, we carefully evaluate each puppy’s temperament as it grows and develops in order to make this determination.
While buyers may feel that they want a particular sex or color they would like to have, we do not encourage this. Buyers who do so must be aware that this will limit our ability to choose the correct puppy match for them. We do not allow buyers to choose the puppy they want from litters, since this too will often result in a poor match between dog and owner. It is our goal for both our puppies and their owners to have a happy, lifetime home. With our background and experience, we feel that we will make the best match.
Please understand that the careful breeding of puppies on a limited basis in not a made to-order business. Reservations are restricted by what we whelp (color, sex, quantity, quality (show or pet), temperament, etc.). We try to make our decision in a timely manner, to determine which puppies are Show/Breeding quality and which are Companion/Pet quality. We do not, however make these determinations until approximately 6-8 weeks of age. It is at this age that factors such as markings and movement are their most apparent.
Both Companion/Pet and Show/Breeding puppies are mentally and physically sound, the differences being based upon the puppy’s individual comparisons to our breed standard. Only puppies determined to contribute to the betterment of the breed, physically, temperamentally, and genetically, are sold as Show/Breeding quality. All of our Companion/Pet quality puppies are sold on limited registration and are not capable of having litters registered.
All of our dogs/puppies are eligible for both AKC & ASCA registration, and are sold with one of the following contracts:
Spay/Neuter: which guarantees the health of the dog/puppy, and that they will be free from hereditary defects. Puppies sold with this type of contract are wonderful companions, and performance (obedience, agility, herding, tracking)dogs, but are not suitable for showing in conformation or for breeding. It is required that that these dogs are spayed or neutered. WE SELL A MAJORITY OF OUR PUPPIES/ADULTS ON THIS CONTRACT. Owner will receive Limited Registration papers. Our pet puppies are $1000.00.
Show/Breeding: which guarantees the health of the dog/puppy, and that they will be free from all show disqualifying faults and hereditary defects affecting its suitability for breeding. These dogs/puppies sold with this type of contract are suitable for showing and breeding. Puppies sold with this contract are usually co-owned and are required to finish their conformation championships, as well as, receive their clearances from OFA and CERF prior to being considered for breeding. On most show puppies, stud rights and rights to a litter(s) are retained. Breeding/Show quality puppies will be sold to SERIOUS show homes only, and NOT strictly for breeding purposes. WE SELL A LIMITED NUMBER OF PUPPIES/ADULTS WITH THIS CONTRACT. Owners receive Full Registration papers on a co-ownership. Our Show/Breeding puppies are sold on a Private Treaty.
